Making Friendship Bracelets

Friendship bracelets are handmade bracelets usually made from embroidery floss or thread. Historians believe that they originate from indigenous people of Central and South America, but they didn't gain popularity in the United States until the 70s.

Part of the popularity of friendship bracelets comes from how easy and inexpensive they are to make. You only need a few materials:

• Embroidery Floss
• Scissors
• Something to hold down your string while tying, like tape or a binder clip
